Annual Report 2024/25

Sjolund once again presents strong financial results
Sjolund A/S delivers continued progress in its 2024/25 annual accounts. The company increases its profit, strengthens day-to-day operations and enters the new financial year with a solid order book and expectations of continued growth.
Based in Kolding, Sjolund A/S specialises in bending, machining, and welding aluminium and steel profiles for local, national and international customers within the transport, construction and industrial sectors.
Strong results – healthy day-to-day operations
The company continues to perform well. The Group closes the 2024/25 financial year with a profit before tax of DKK 9.6 million, compared with DKK 7.9 million the previous year – an increase of 22 per cent. Gross profit rose from DKK 42.3 million the year before to DKK 44.0 million.
The company’s core operations are sound and strengthened: operating profit increased from DKK 8.1 million to DKK 10.0 million, corresponding to a year-on-year increase of almost 24 per cent.
In 2022, the company returned to Danish ownership when it was acquired from a German private equity fund by Søren Ravn, who had previously owned the business for several years.
“We have every reason to be satisfied with the new financial results, which clearly demonstrate that our defined strategy – focusing on our core competencies within bending, machining, and welding of steel and aluminium – is both the right approach and a profitable one. At the same time, our skilled employees deliver a strong daily effort,” says owner and CEO Søren Ravn.
New collaboration in the Middle East
During the financial year just concluded, the company entered into a new partnership agreement with a business in the Middle East. As a result, Sjolund A/S now produces in Denmark, China, and the Middle East – close to customers in key markets.
Solid order book and need for additional employees
“We experience strong support and trust from our customers locally, nationally and internationally. They entrust us with important specialist tasks, which we take great pride in delivering,” Søren Ravn explains.
This is reflected in a promising order book for the new financial year, with expectations for next year’s results in the range of DKK 9–12 million in profit before tax.
The company currently employs 50 skilled employees. “We could use even more talented people. We are looking for individuals with a craft-based background, whom we are happy to invest in through training and skills development,” says Søren Ravn.
In 2024/25, the company also had the financial capacity to invest in efficiency improvements and automation.
The management team consists of Søren Ravn, Kasper Straarup, Factory Manager, and Lars Jørgensen, Finance Manager.
Background
Sjolund A/S traces its history back to 1936, when the company operated as the local blacksmith in the Danish village of Sjølund. Søren Ravn acquired the business in 2007 and successfully led it until 2018, when it was sold to a German private equity fund. Following an unsuccessful strategy, Søren Ravn repurchased the company in 2022.
